Why Use a Case Converter?
Retyping text just to fix its capitalization wastes time and often introduces new typos. A case converter lets you paste text once and instantly reformat it for whatever you need — a headline in Title Case, a variable name in camelCase, or a database column in snake_case — without touching a single keystroke.
This is especially useful for writers cleaning up pasted text, developers renaming variables to match a coding convention, and anyone formatting headlines, social captions, or code documentation.
What Each Case Style Means
- UPPERCASE: Every letter capitalized. Common for acronyms, warnings, and emphasis.
- lowercase: Every letter lowercase. Common for usernames, slugs, and tags.
- Title Case: The first letter of most words capitalized, following common headline conventions. Useful for blog titles and headings.
- Sentence case: Only the first letter of each sentence capitalized, matching normal prose.
- aLtErNaTiNg cAsE: Letters alternate between upper and lower case — often used for sarcastic or stylized text online.
- camelCase / PascalCase: Words joined with no spaces; camelCase starts lowercase, PascalCase starts uppercase. Common in JavaScript and Java variable and class names.
- snake_case / CONSTANT_CASE: Words joined with underscores; snake_case is lowercase, CONSTANT_CASE is uppercase. Common in Python variables and environment variables.
- kebab-case: Words joined with hyphens. Common in URLs, CSS class names, and file names.
- dot.case: Words joined with periods. Used in some configuration keys and file naming conventions.
