Privacy Policy – OpenCharacterCounter.

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Summary

OpenCharacterCounter (opencharactercounter.com) does not store or receive the text you type into its tools. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies on this site to show ads. This policy explains both, and what you can do about them. It is effective October 30, 2026.

  • The counter and case converter run in your browser. Your text is not sent to our servers.
  • You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name or email to use the tools.
  • Ads are provided by Google AdSense, which uses cookies. You can opt out of personalized ads.

Information we collect and don’t collect

Text you enter into the tools. The character counter and case converter process your text locally in your browser using JavaScript. We do not receive, store or log it, and closing or refreshing the page clears it.

Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply, and we do not sell or share them.

Technical data. Like most websites, this one is hosted on a server that may automatically record standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages requested. Our advertising partners may also collect similar information through cookies (see below). We do not use this information to identify individual visitors. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will name them in this policy.

Accounts. There are no accounts or sign-ups, so we do not collect names, passwords or payment details.

Cookies and Google AdSense

This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. These cookies let Google and its partners collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details and the ads you view or click. We do not set our own tracking cookies.

Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads that may be personalized. To learn how Google handles this data, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.

We do not control these cookies or the data Google collects through them, and we do not receive your personal information from Google.

Your choices

  • Opt out of personalized ads. Use Google’s Ads Settings to turn off personalized advertising, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of personalized ads from other participating companies.
  • Control cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking them may change which ads you see, but the tools will keep working.
  • Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before ad cookies are set, using a consent banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that banner.
  • Privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data a company holds about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. We do not hold personal data about visitors beyond any emails you send us, and you can ask us to delete those at any time.

Third-party links, children and changes

Third-party links. This site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so read their policies before sharing information.

Children. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes. We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
